"The Stable" of The Witcher 3: An Elaborate New Horse Customization Mod is Now Available

The Witcher 3’s Roach has long earned a spot in my list of beloved video game horse companions, even though her functionality is relatively basic. If you too wish that CD Projekt Red’s widely beloved Fantasy RPG had more options for horse customization, this new Mod has got you covered: The Stable is a horse customization mod now out in Beta and still being further developed.

The player-made modification adds a new type of location to the game – marked by a horseshoe on your map – that is based on the vanilla game’s barber functionality: you interact with an NPC and they give you some customization options to buy and equip.

The Stable contains an impressive variety of horse customizations, including a draft body type, feathers, various coat colors, different mane and tail styles and tack options. And since Witcher Geralt of Rivia canonically names every horse he rides Roach and at least on one occasion in the books gets a grey Roach, we can even consider this lore-friendly.
